Casais was established on 23rd May 1958 under the name “António Fernandes da Silva & Irmãos, Lda”. Later, in 1991, it adopted the Master António Casais family’s nickname as its brand, family who until today for 57 years has administrated the company, becoming Empreiteiros Casais de António Fernandes da Silva SA.

Curently Casais Group is one of the largest companies in the construction sector in Portugal. Maintaining a family-owned enterprise characteristic, the core business company of the Group – Casais – Engineering and Construction is managed by the second and third generations with the board of directors chaired by the eldest son of Master Casais, José da Silva Fernandes, and the Executive Council by António Carlos Fernandes Rodrigues, who is the eldest grandson of the founder.

The Group currently operates in 13 countries: Portugal, Germany, Angola, Belgium, Gibraltar, Holland, France, Morocco, Mozambique, Brazil, Cape Verde, Qatar and Algeria, but in our internationalization history we have also operated in other countries such as Russia, Kazakhstan, China and Spain.

The Future is mainly driven by continued growth in the national market, by the focus on internationalization, consolidating our presence in the countries where we are currently working and studying our entry into other countries, but also by focusing on the newer business areas of the group which are Environment, Energy and Services.

A Casais foi criada em 1958, hoje, o Grupo Casais é um dos maiores do setor da construção em Portugal. Mantendo o cariz familiar, a empresa core business do Grupo – Casais – Engenharia e Construção é administrada pela segunda e terceira gerações.

Consolidada a presença no mercado interno, a internacionalização iniciada, em 1994, na Alemanha afigura-se um pilar da estratégia de crescimento orgânico, sustentado em alianças e parcerias locais.

Atualmente, o Grupo opera em 13 países: Portugal, Alemanha, Angola, Bélgica, Gibraltar, Holanda, França, Marrocos, Moçambique, Brasil, Cabo Verde, Qatar e Argélia, mas da história da nossa internacionalização constam outros países como a Rússia, o Cazaquistão, a China e Espanha.

O Futuro passa, essencialmente, pelo contínuo crescimento no mercado nacional; pela aposta na internacionalização, consolidando a presença nos países onde atuamos e estudando a entrada noutros países; mas também pela aposta nas áreas de negócio mais jovens do Grupo: Ambiente, Energia e Serviços.
